Admission Essay on running

According to Bale (2004), running is one of the words most widely practiced sports and recreations, which is as old as man. Running has been a crucial part of my leisure activities since my childhood. My serious involvement in running as a sports activity however started during my high school education period. Though my parents were demoralizing and against my idea of joining, and fully participating in school sports, I joined because of the encouragement I got from both my class teacher, and fellow students. Nevertheless, it only took a short time before I gained much interest in running and got used to spending my leisure time either running or with my team mates. Such motivations and increased involvement in school sports coupled with constant success of our team made me even more encouraged to intensify my engagement in running sports.

My life in high school was marked with many changes in my general life. The school had just built a new academic excellence building as well as modern sporting facilities such as a sporting field. Although the sporting field was more reflective of the soccer game rather than running, it is rightly true to claim that such laid a basis for my successful creation of interest in running sports. It was due to the demand that academics and sporting had that I easily realized the importance of balancing the available time more effectively. Such sufficiently helped me maintain success both in my academics and sporting as well as other school based activities.

My participation in the cross country running festivals started when I was in grade two. Such was highly demanding for me as I had not been used to waking up at 7 am in the morning for a run. It is due to the ultimate claim for running as a way of realizing physical fitness that before I got used to the early waking route, I constantly questioned whether such struggles could justify the perceived physical fitness benefits. However, it took not much time before I realized that every time I was running the five miles cross country, my experience increasingly grew towards the demands of the cross country team. It is indeed this that made me more and more involved in running than any other sporting activity in school. Such realization of self success greatly encouraged me leading to the spending of more time practicing with my team mates.

I managed to win various high school awards at various levels in cross country. Although sporting greatly influenced my entire life, it was not without concern for academic excellence that I managed to achieve great in my academic certification. It is due to this success that I boast of having sufficiently achieved my goals. Runnings have not only taken me to places but have also made me known, and learn from different people. I still spend most of my personal time practicing and competing with cross country team. I currently see running as the ultimate fortune that will change my entire life.

Based on this much interest and achievements I have realized in running, I belief it is logically fair to continue nurturing such a talent through joining the professional running institutions. It is due to this that I write to apply for admission into you school. Such an opportunity will greatly increase my chances of realizing my cross country running talent and thus economic stability.
