Sport Management Alcohol Use Prevention in Underage Individuals at Sporting Venues
The new idea involves the development of a process that manages entry of people at the venue and the sale of alcoholic beverages to customers at various points at the venue.
The process of the alcohol management system compromises of two devices. The first device can identity people through a camera and determine their drugalcohol history by communicating with a database. The individual may or may not be permitted entry by the security depending on their drug history (Bunn, 2005). Further during alcohol sale, another device is used to identify the person through a wrist band identifier or an identity card, communicate with the database through a wireless network connection, obtain the personal information of the potential consumer such as age, occupation and health status, and determine whether they can be served alcohol or not, and the type and quantity of alcohol they can be served (Brown, 2006). In this way underage drinking and trouble from alcohol use can be prevented at sporting venues.
The process consists of preventing alcohol abuse not only by underage individuals but also from people with a troublesome drug or alcohol history. Such individuals would not be permitted entry into the sports venue and in case this fails, they would not be served or sold alcohol.
